Upcoming NYPNU Events and How to Participate!

We have many upcoming events that you may be interested in attending.  Below, in chronological order, are all of the currently planned events for April, May and June, as well as how to sign up for them.  If you sign up for a specific event, we will follow up with instructions and updates for you for that event.

The Celebration of Maureen McCarthy’s Life and Work

Location: 202 EAST at 202 E. 77th #2.

NYPNU’s founding president, Maureen McCarthy, passed away on February 4th after a brave battle with cancer.  Please join us as we gather to celebrate her life, her achievements, and her legacy.

·         Heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and open bar service provided.

·         Reserve your ticket here:

While entry is free, a suggested donation of $20 is requested to support the McCarthy Memorial Benefit Fund.  PLEASE RSVP THROUGH THE EVENTBRITE SITE EVEN IF YOU CANNOT MAKE A DONATION AT THIS TIME.

In honor of President McCarthy’s illustrious service to her Union, we will be fundraising at this event for a memorial fund in her name benefiting the United Association for Labor Education’s (UALE) Northeast Women in Unions Summer School, a program that empowers and trains women to take on leadership roles in their Unions.  We can think of no better way to honor President McCarthy than by training a new generation of bad-ass women to pick up where she left off fighting for the rights of all working people.
