NYPNU is thrilled to offer another opportunity for members to sign up for a once in a lifetime writing workshops through our ongoing partnership with the Writers Guild Initiative.
The workshop is taught in two (3-hour) sessions via Zoom
Session 1: Thurs, April 7th, 2 - 5 pm
Session 2: Thurs, April 14th, 2 - 5 pm
IF YOU SIGN UP, YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS
As a nurse and NYPNU member, you are invited to participate in this writing workshop aimed at helping you process your life experiences. You will hone your skills of self-expression through a series of writing exercises aimed at stimulating creativity and promoting attention to detail, description and dialogue.
The spirit is one of trust, collaboration, and humor. No writing experience is necessary and the accomplished mentors running the program don’t care about spelling and punctuation. The goal of the program is to help you find your voice so that writing can potentially be a productive and enjoyable part of your life.

What is the Writers Guild Initiative?
Since their founding in 2008, The Writers Guild Initiative has conducted writers workshops all over the country with the mission of giving a voice to populations not being heard. Much of their work through the years has been with people living with PTSD.
The success of the workshops depends on WGI mentors building trust and creating a safe and supportive environment. For participants, the result is a growing confidence in their writing skills and an enhanced ability to process their lives and the world around them as they discover their own unique voice.

The Writing Workshop Program
The online program consists of two three-hour online sessions of intensive writing with WGI mentors, who are some of the finest writers in the country. The workshops are small so that you get a lot of support and attention. By signing up, you are making a commitment to attend both sessions (April 7 & 14) for the full 3-hours each session.

Please fill out the form no later than March 25th.

And remember, you don't have to be an accomplished writer. English doesn't have to be your first language. You aren't obligated to share what you write.
We hope you take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity! Sign up today!
