Information for members enrolled in the "Manhattan RN/LHH Health Insurance Plan" (aka the "NYPNU Plan)
For members in the "Manhattan RN/Lenox Hill" plan (aka the 'NYPNU plan"), whenever you make a call to MagnaCare or Brighton representatives, specifically note you are enrolled in the “Manhattan RN/Lenox Hill” plan.
Which plan you are in is relevant regarding tiers and copays only if you are in the Value or Buy-Up plan because there are copay costs associated with the tiers in those plans. The tiers are not very relevant for members enrolled in the Manhattan RN plan, however, some members (enrolled in the Manhattan RN plan) are being told incorrect information by Brighton because administrators are making an assumption you're in the Value or Buy-Up plans, not the unique Manhattan RN plan that is only offered to NYPNU members (by contractual obligation) within the Northwell system.
For your information -
- Tier 1 is Northwell Direct network
- Tier 2 is the MagnaCare network
- Tier 3 is Out-of-Network
Again, the tiers don't mean a lot for the Manhattan RN plan (aka the "NYPNU" plan), it's more relevant for the Value and Buy-up plans. For the Manhattan RN plan, Tier 1 and 2 reimburse the same.
For those members utilizing the Manhattan RN plan using the Cigna network because you, or your dependent(s), live outside the NY area (NJ, CT, PA, etc), your in-network copay is the same for Cigna as it is for MagnaCare/Northwell Direct in-network copay. If your provider, MagnaCare, or Brighton claim you are "in-network/out-of-area" subject to a 30% copay - they are incorrect.
