Nurses make this hospital run!
On September 5th, we’ll show Northwell our power.
Fight for higher wages, new rights, and excellent care for working-class patients in a new union contract.
ALL-UNION + COMMUNITY RALLY
Wednesday, September 5, 2018
10am
NEW LOCATION! 3rd Ave between 76th & 77th!
In 1988, the fighting union nurses of Lenox Hill Hospital went out on strike.
We abolished mandatory overtime. We forced Lenox Hill Hospital to accept nurse-patient ratios.
We transformed the hospital, putting nurses’ rights and patient care first.
Thirty years later, it’s time for us to fight again.
Northwell Health is under-staffing the hospitals: stretching nurses too thin, making our working lives hell, wringing dollars out of our work, and skimping on patient care. Nurses are drowning in student debt. Nurses and our co-workers on the hospital floor endure harassment and bullying. Our wages are lower than those paid by any other major, private-sector Manhattan hospital. We deserve better, and we will fight to win.
Nurses are the union—and we will not be defeated.
When nurses and all our fellow workers are in the streets, no power on earth can stop us.
