"I've been working at Lenox Hill for almost 12 years and have been a NYPNU delegate for more than half of that time. I've been on the executive board for 3 years now. I graduated with my masters in nursing in 2015 but by then had become so passionate about my work with the union that I decided to stay working as floor nurse so that I could continue with NYPNU.
Like our current President Kathy, and Maureen before her, I believed law school would expand my knowledge base and better help me represent NYPNU nurses and I've just finished my first year at Fordham Law School while working full time as nurse."
Per the NYPNU Constitution, officers (including Vice President) are required to get 147 petition signatures (10% of the total NYPNU membership) in order to qualify for the ballot.
